The Insider
These carvings are made by plunge cutting various pieces out of a block of wood, and then carving each of them, and re-attaching all of it back together using a simple dovetail joint. The block that provided the pieces, much depleted, but a sculpture in its own right, becomes it's base.

Little Cuts
This is a series of 40 photographs that shows the carving of a block of wood, from nothing, to a young man, to an old man, to a dead man, and then to complete disintegration. The plexiglas box in the middle of the room, which is the size of the original wooden block, contains the sawdust of the carving process itself.
